The Thunder Trucks heat race there was a close battle between Tye Cook, Mark Pyle, and Briggs Dorty. It was Mark Pyle starting on the outside of the front row prevailed as he took the heat race win. During the main event it was first time winner Briggs Dorty that took the checkered flag as Mark Pye, Tye Cook, and John Benson followed.
After qualifying there were 4 drivers that would be inverted, this brought Brandon Watts to the pole and quick time winner Scott Hardman starting 4th. It was a close race but it was Braiden Breaux that ended up on top of the Heat Race followed by Scott Hardman and Tracy Eaton. After finishing second in the heat race and the line up reset, Scott set out from the 4th position. The race was slowed by two early cautions, which took Brandon Watts from the lead and start at the back of the pack. The last 13 laps went green and Brandon worked his way from 6th all the way to 2nd place by the time the checkered flag flew. Scott Hardman took the trophy for his first Super Stock win, he was followed by Brandon Watts, Braiden Breaux, Tracy Eaton, David Miller, and Dave Fleishman.
The IMCA Sport Modifieds in their first event of the year at MCR brought a close battle between Gauge Smith, John Grandjean, and Travis Gray. Travis and Gauge were nose to tail the entire race, but it was Travis that brought home the heat race win. The main event started with Guage on the pole and Travis on the outside. It was close as you could have thrown a blanket over the top of the two as they came across the line. Gauge Smith from Roosevelt, Utah took the first IMCA Sport Modified race here at MCR.
The IMCA Modifieds had another great turn out as 15 modifieds were in attendance. In addition to the local talent the race also drew Zane DeVilbiss from Farmington, NM, Dan Fitzgerald of Las Vegas,NV, Ghery and Kelley Smith from Roosevelt, UT.
Heat Races were won by Zane DeVilbiss, Kelley Smith, and Wyatt Howard. Dan Fitzgerald improved the most positions in the heat races as he started last and finished 2nd in Heat #2. The field for the main event was set by IMCA Points and inverted by the top 4 from each heat race. The race was only stopped by two early cautions and the 30 lap main event went green from lap 5 all the way to the checkered flag. Zane worked his way from the 8th position taking the lead on lap 6 and then set sail to the end of the race for win #3 on the year at MCR. Zane was followed by Kelley Smith, Dan Fitzgerald, Dusty Safley, and Wyatt Howard. Wyatt Howard has also had 3 consecutive top 5's at MCR to start out the year.
